OUR STORY
Tim and Callie could have met New Year’s Eve 2013. They were invited to the same party that took over the Playland Motel in Rockaway Beach, but Callie didn’t make it.
They could have met again in July 2019 on a dance floor in Rockaway Beach, where photos later confirmed they were dancing next to each other (some claim they did meet that day, but both were having too good a time to remember).

There was another chance in November 2019, dancing on opposite sides of the bar to an AC/DC cover band at a mutual friend’s fundraiser in Red Hook, but their paths didn’t cross then either. That same month, they had another chance to meet the day after Thanksgiving, dancing across the room at a Wild Yaks show in Greenpoint, but they still didn’t connect. There were countless other times where their circles intersected at karaoke nights or beach days, friends bumping into each other in crowded bars, but the timing was not quite right.

In 2020, Tim and Callie finally had a chance to slow down and meet. In the depths of the locked-in months, Callie was reading astrology in her bathtub on an Instagram Live and Tim had what they’d later call “awooga eyes,” even though he was born without an astrological sign. They met a few weeks later at a Black Lives Matter protest, where they marched together and talked the whole time, even as Callie was mesmerized by Tim’s pandemic shaggy curly hair. They met up again the next day at a bike protest, where Callie rode her bike very fast and far away from Tim, but linked up with him and friends later for beers at night park.
They saw each other for five days straight after that until Tim got the results of his first-of-many Covid tests; it came back negative and they had their first proper date to celebrate. They drank micheladas on the roof as neighbors set off fireworks all night long, and the fireworks haven’t stopped since.
Tim and Callie love building costumes together, veganizing every recipe in the world, riding their bikes, being on boats, accepting free tickets to fancy events, creating elaborate theme parties for their friends and bringing people together for sweet times.
